Massimiliano Ferronato

Massimiliano Ferronato is professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Padova, Italy. He is the director of the PhD School in Sciences of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering of the same university. His research interests include the computational modelling of multi-physics processes related to fluid withdrawal/injection from/into the subsurface, such as land subsidence and uplift, fault activation, stress analyses in geological basins. He is author and co-author of about 120 publications in international journals and scientific volumes. In 2017, he has been awarded by the International Association of Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG) with the Excellent Regional Contribution Award for his contributions in the development of novel computer methods for the solution of coupled Biot consolidation models.
